A tradition of the Hot Rod & Classic Car festival is to have a central theme and this year is no different. We will be celebrating the pre 75 Muscle Car Era. From stock and mild to wild, there are many great Muscle Cars Marques to honour, in fact so much so we decided it was worthy as this year’s feature.
We are honoured this year to have two of NZ’s great Hot Rod Pioneers joining us for the whole weekend. Graham Berry & Dave Chung of b/c fame will be hanging out with the Rod Run entrants and on Sunday we will be featuring an awesome display of their iconic work over the decades, something not to miss! We are lucky enough to have Graham making a special one off model for the weekend which will be auctioned off at Saturday Nights Rod Run prize giving, upon which proceeds will go our local charity Little Elms. This is a chance to put a bid in for an iconic piece of Hot Rod History, silent bids will be accepted if you can’t make to the event.
In conjunction with the Sunday 5th May Festival we will also host our Annual NZHRA sanctioned Rod Run on the Friday 3rd and Saturday the 4th May. The Rod Run continues its same theme visiting points of interest in Hawkes Bay with a fabulous luncheon followed by a fantastic social evening including a live band and supper. It is that popular we unfortunately are at capacity already!
